Top Ten Books I Would Like To See Made Into Movies

This week is a freebie topic so since I love waxing lyrical about books and movies, I have decided to combine the two for this week’s theme.

books to movies1

This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers:

Zombies. Teenagers trapped in a board up school. Zombies. Group falling apart as tensions rise. Zombies (I am a zombie fan – could you tell?)

Angelfall by Susan Ee:

I have heard that the rights have actually been optioned for a film. I can totally see why – end of the world with Angels – sign me up!!

Swan Song by Robert McCammon:

I read this book for the first time when I was a teenager and I have always thought that this would make a terrific movie with it’s post-apocalyptic setting.

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins:

This would make a simply delightful movie – the setting and the cute romance could make it a sure-fire hit!

Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard:

The setting is Central America so this could be a wonderful cultural movie. The romance is pretty sweet too!

Storm by Brigid Kemmerer:

I think my ovaries would explode if they were to make a movie that featured the Merrick brothers (plus the plot is pretty good too)!

Darkhouse by Karina Halle:

This could be deliciously spooky – I really love a good horror and the plot of this series would definitely make for some really creepy movies.

Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta:

This is currently being adapted by the author into a film script – if Looking for Alibrandi is any indication, this could also be fantastic.

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater:

This is one of my new favourite series ever and it would make a great movie. Blue and the boys would be amazing on the big screen.

Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley:

This could have a very Nick and Norah feel to it(I really enjoyed the movie adaptation of the David Levithan and Rachel Cohn penned book).

  1. I enjoy zombies myself and would love to see the Benny Imura series by Jonathan Maberry made into movies. I can’t think of any good angel movies, so I’d be absolutely on board with an Angelfall movie. As for The Raven Boys, I might consider the book too sacred for a movie. I’d need a lot of convincing.

    • I really need to read Jonathan Maberry at some point. Angelfall would translate pretty well I think. The Raven Boys would be trickier to put off but in the right hands maybe… 🙂

  2. Angelfall would be great! I think it could be better as a series if they explored more back story that currently isn’t there now. Although I wouldn’t be upset with a movie!

    • Great minds thinking alike and all that…lol 😉

I think Anna and the French Kiss would be a great movie too – the Parisian alone would be enough you’re totally right!

I have just checked out your TTT. Great list. I think from what I have heard of it Code Name Verity would be a fantastic movie – I really need to get round to reading the book soon. The Forgotten Garden was a great book – it would make a really interesting film if it was done right. 🙂
